Lighter Help

How To Refill a Lighter

Refueling your refillable butane cigarette lighter is quite easy. Refill cans are available just about anywhere, from your local tobacco shop to WalMart as well as on our Website. However, refills from the stores do not seem to work well. These brands include Ronson and Colibri brands. When using these brand of lighter fluid we found they mess the lighters up and make them not work properly. The butane on our site works a lot better. We are not saying this to sell more, we are telling you so you can maximize the life of your lighter you purchase off us. You are more then welcome to try a name brand butane gas but you will not have much luck with it. The reason it seams to work better is because our butane is made to burn at higher temperatures then other butane. Our butane will keep your lighters burning hot for many years.

To refill:

The most common mistake made in refilling a butane cigar lighter, is not keeping the can and the lighter upside down. If you do not refill with the can in the upside down position, you will just inject air into the lighter and it will not work properly until it is bled and refilled.

First read the warning labels and instructions on the can. Aim away from face and stay away from any open flame or ignition source. Please use common sense!

Hold the lighter and the refill can upside down. There will be a small hole at the bottom of your lighter, inside the hole you'll see the inlet valve. Press the tip of the refill can over the inlet valve and press down firmly for 4-5 seconds. Repeat once.

Adjust the flame to desired height.

You're done!

REMEMBER...
When refilling you must keep the lighter upside down to avoid the collection of air in the lighter's butane tank.

DRAINING AIR FROM THE BUTANE TANK

This should be done prior to refilling your Butane Lighter. When refilling the lighter, please take air out of the lighter butane tank by pressing down on the refill inlet valve with a small screw driver or pen before injecting butane gas. You will hear a hissing sound when air is bled out of the gas tank. If the empty gas tank is filled with air, you will not be able to effectively refill the gas tank with butane gas.
